At The End Of The Rainbow

In loving memory of my loving brother, Ji-Wui: Our brother is forever in our hearts.

My sisters and I were sitting on the porch, enjoying our afternoon tea after the rain had stopped. As we were chatting, a rainbow shining bright and colorful appeared across the sky.

“Hey! Let’s follow the rainbow. We may find the pot of gold!” said one of my sisters. She was always full of zest and started to follow it.

We all stood up and followed her sharing the same enthusiasm.

We joyfully treaded through the muddy road, feeling and acting like children again. Suddenly we were in a beautiful meadow; it was open, sunny, and full of wildflowers. I liked very much to stop and immerse myself in this wonderful scenery, but the eagerness of knowing what lay at the end of the rainbow made me move on.

I wondered to myself “Where will the rainbow end?” and hoped it would not be too far away. As if answering my hope, we were in an open clearing where the rainbow ended. There was no pot of gold and the clearing opened to another bright and sunny meadow.

As I was deeply submerged in this peaceful scenery, a ray of blue light shone down from the rainbow, and I saw a figure slowly immerging. My sisters and I were stunned and stared at the figure slowly emerging.

And then we shouted at the same time, “Second elder brother!” and started running to him. Our second brother opened his arms to embrace us.

We were all in tears and telling him how much we missed him. Soon after we settled down, my brother told us that he knew we missed him a lot and that he got permission from God to come down to see us. It would be this one and only time and he was happy and well on the other side.

We were reminiscing old times when the ray of blue color shone down again. My brother said he had to leave us now and asked us to take good care of ourselves, then disappeared slowly into the air.

I woke up with tears on my face and I quickly texted all my sisters regarding this dream. And we all concluded that this was the message from our second brother.
