How to Let Go of the Past?

Letting go i.e., stop ruminating about something that happened in the past and move on. We often struggle with freeing ourselves from painful memories and emotions. Our present moments are wasted in feeling guilty, regretful, and angry about the past. We know it’s essential to let go to live a happy life. But it’s not always easy. Here, I would like to share with you some approaches to trying to let go.

How to let go?

  1. Accept and write down what caused the pain.
  2. Trust that you will be happier if you let go of the past.
  3. Know that it’s time to forgive – yourself or others.
  4. Create empowering habits like writing down the things you are grateful for.
  5. Surround yourself with positive people.
  6. Get professional help if you have a difficult time letting go.
